Nearly a dozen local organizations serving homeless Londoners are reaching out to vulnerable members of the community this week as the City of London begins fulfilling a commitment to the Canadian Alliance to End Homelessness 20,000 Homes Campaign.
Now in its second year, the goal of the Canada-wide campaign is to find stable housing for 20,000 individuals and families experiencing homelessness by July 2018. During London’s Registry Week October 19-23, 75 volunteers from 10 participating organizations will reach out to homeless Londoners through a survey meant to gather information about our community and assist in a co-ordinated response. Interviews are occurring at 15 different locations across the city.
This is London’s first year participating in the 20,000 Homes Campaign.
